You know Agilent as another long-time leader and innovator in the scientific instruments marketplace. Both Agilent and Varian come from a rich heritage as early Silicon Valley pioneers centered on innovation. Today, Agilent and Varian have complementary technologies, products and workforces. Each company brings expertise across different geographies and applications. While their businesses differ, the companies share a deep commitment to customer satisfaction. In summary, two strong companies with complementary strengths and common values are combining. What is most exciting to us about this is that, together, we will be able to offer our customers the industry’s most comprehensive set of solutions. We also expect the acquisition to strengthen our service and support capabilities in all regions across the globe. You may have some questions about how this will affect you and your interactions with Varian from now forward. Agilent expects the acquisition to be final by calendar year-end 2009, subject to regulatory approvals. Until then, we remain two separate companies, conducting business as usual. We have a focused team working on all of acquisition-specific processes so there will be no distractions to the field sales team or factory personnel serving you. Похоже Chrompack и Plolymer Laboratories попали под раздачу... Особенно Chrompack - у Агилента помимо своих колонок еще J&W имеется. |

Небольшой оффтоп. Раз уж подобная тема появилась, то может кто просветит насчет аналогичной кончины Карло Эрба, которую Термо съела. Я лицо заинтересованное, у нас с 97 года работают четыре ГХ от CE. Было дело, заказывали запчасти и получили комплект уже через Термо. |

Ну и что Agilent поимел, кроме головной боли? Вон Sciex взял у Applied Biosystems сайт в Framingham и всю программу по TOF/TOF - и что из этого получилось? Уж что угодно, кроме global market leader... А сейчас уж и Sciex'a нет. |

Редактировано 1 раз(а) Скорее всего данная сделка имела целью не ослабление конкуренции, а выход на новые рынки товаров. У Вариана имеются разработки, которые Аджиленту пришлись бы как раз кстати... Монополию ведь никто создать не позволит (тем более, что Аджилент и Вариан - американские компании, у них там с этим все строго). Да и с конкурентами, по моему, не так у них принято разбираться... |
